The program - for youth in grades 9–12 - will provide opportunities for teens to learn about the Catholic faith, while spending time with other young people who strive to live an active Catholic life. Each week will consist of music, teachings based on the faith themes put forth by the Archdiocese, small group processing time, food, games, prayer and fellowship. We hope that all youth, from both public and private schools, will join us in growing their faith answering the call to be disciples of Jesus Christ. In this way, they will strengthen the "young" Church of St. Angela Merici.
We have established a team of adults whose focus is to plan and implement the components of the LIFE nights, including (but not necessarily limited to) proclaiming teaching sessions, serving as small group leaders, and praying with and for the teens. We are always happy to accept as volunteers adults willing to serve Sunday evenings in any of the following capacities. We would like to have a mix of parents, young adults and senior adults; single and married who wish to teach and advise our teens.
TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED IN ALL ASPECTS OF CORE TEAM RESPONSIBILITY:
Core Team
SAM Team Mentor Program
Music: Praise & Worship Team
Confirmation Core Team
Small Group Leaders
Food Coordinator
Food Helpers
Office/Welcome desk helper
Prayer support

SAM Team is our youth leadership team, whose "service and ministry" is to help our adult team in the planning and implementation of our parish’s LIFE TEEN program, as well as service projects and social gatherings outside of our regular Sunday LIFE nights.
Our leadership team "ministry model" includes several components that will help make our youth ministry program at St. Angela Merici a big success by allowing the teen leaders to help make decisions that will impact the direction of the ministry - the model is listed below. Each SAM Team member will discern the ministry component that best fits the gifts he or she brings to the team and will meet on a regular basis with their adult mentors to plan LIFE nights, activities and events based on the criteria of the component they have chosen.
TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED IN ALL ASPECTS OF SAM TEAM RESPONSIBILITY:
Spiritual ministry
Social ministry
Praise & Worship ministry
Service ministry
Retreat ministry
Eligibility requirements: SAM Team members must be Confirmed and be Juniors and/or Seniors in high school. A discernment process to determine members is held each summer for the following school year.
