This coming weekend, March 25th and 26th is Commitment Weekend! The formal push for our Realizing our Vision Capital Campaign is winding down and I continue to be amazed by the generosity of the St. Angela Merici community. We kicked off our effort 14 weeks ago and since then we’ve seen the fundraising totals gradually climb. As of March 20th, we have received $3,018,468 in total commitments from 471 families! Each gift, each pledge, each display of sacrifice has been an inspiration and blessing to our parish community. Due to the overwhelming display of stewardship, we are getting closer and closer to our $4 million Silver Goal.
We now join to celebrate Commitment Weekend. It is important to honor the families who have given so generously to this campaign. If you have made a pledge or gift, thank you! If you have yet to join our cause, I invite you to make your commitment today. Supporting our campaign isn’t an expectation – it’s an invitation to invest in the future of our church. We need your help!
Each of you will receive a commitment card during Mass this weekend. Each of you will be asked to complete the card. Before doing so, I ask that you review it carefully and discern what you might be able to do to help secure a brighter future for St. Angela Merici. Please know that your donation, no matter the size, will have a positive impact on the entire church community.
THANK YOU for your investment into St. Angela Merici, its mission and its ministries. With your support, our Realizing our Vision Capital Campaign will continue to be a huge blessing.
And please continue to pray for the success of our campaign.

After months of hard work, careful planning and plenty of prayer, we are pleased to announce that St. Angela Merici is moving forward with a capital campaign to fund building a new church, a new administration building and renovating the parish life center into a religious education building. The decision to proceed with a campaign was a collective choice made by the Pastoral Council, Finance Council and Fr. John. Ultimately though, the decision was made by our parish family. During our recent planning study, where we received 525 total responses, which represents 35% of our registered families, the vast majority (91%) of respondents were in favor of a campaign and (85%) indicated they would financially support the effort.
The theme of our campaign is Realizing Our Vision. This is fitting for the St. Angela Merici community and this campaign because we are now seeing our Vision come to life.
It is an exciting time for our parish as we seek to lay a strong foundation for our future. To be successful, we will rely on every family at St. Angela Merici for support. In the coming weeks and months you will learn much more about the campaign and the different ways you can help. In the meantime, please pray for our parish leaders and volunteers who will be working diligently to ensure a successful outcome.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. John E. Cahoon
