Bringing wonderful flavors together!
We recognize and appreciate our cultural diversity here at St. Angela. In fact, it is something that makes us a unique Parish within the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Recently, we celebrated that with the Heritage Festival which showcased many of our parishioners representing the countries they were born in. We also realize that we have a rich depth of traditions and culture within ALL of our parishioners. This is what gives our parish a particularly unique “flavor,” so to speak.
Therefore, we are delighted to embark on a project that we believe will highlight and celebrate that… “The Flavors of St. Angela.”
We are seeking to publish a community cookbook filled to the brim with the best recipes from the best cooks in our parish – and we need your favorite recipes! The best news of all? All of the profits from the sale of the cookbooks will go into our capital fund. These cookbooks will become a cherished keepsake on your kitchen shelf.
We would like to have three or four of your favorite recipes. We will select one or more of your recipes to be included in the cookbook. Your name, photo, and story of your recipe will be printed in the cookbook as well. We want to hear about the family traditions surrounding the dish, who it has been passed down from, where it originated, etc. A recipe form will be provided for you to complete online or recipes can be dropped off at the Parish office.
These cookbooks will make wonderful Christmas gifts to family members and we hope the creation will be reflective of the rich cultures and dishes of our community. So, bring us your best dishes and let’s create something beautiful and tasty together!
